Most softeners that "stopped working" need a part, not a new unit. Repairs run $100 to $1,000 depending on what's wrong — and if it genuinely isn't worth fixing, we'll say so before we charge you anything.
What it usually is
Brine tank looks full but the water's hard. Often the cheapest call we make.
Constant running to drain, won't regenerate, or error codes on the head.
Dead resin on an otherwise sound tank. We rebed with 10% cross-link — the only grade we carry.
If the repair is more than half the cost of an LPWS32K, we'll tell you and let you decide. No pressure either way.
We service units other companies installed.
A good share of our repair calls come as referrals from other softener companies and from homeowners whose original installer isn't answering. Brand doesn't matter — if it has a valve and a tank, Jason has worked on it. Ten years at Kinetico before this covers most of what's out there.
