New Braunfels water is hard by design — it comes out of limestone.
New Braunfels Utilities draws from the Edwards and Trinity aquifers and the Guadalupe River. That water is very hard and leaves scale on everything from the shower door to the tankless heater. Quoted over the phone; we are up I-35 most weeks.

Expect hardness in the high-teens to 20+ grains per gallon on NBU supply. Newer subdivisions east of I-35 are almost always pre-plumbed with a softener loop in the garage. Older homes near downtown and Gruene usually are not — text us the three photos and we will quote it anyway.
Published range $2,100–$4,000 pre-plumbed, softener only. Higher only for code work, distance, or special circumstances.
Same softener, same warranty, everywhere we go.
10% cross-link resin, Clack valve. Five years on the valve, ten on the tank, one year of free service checkup. Installed by Jason and Anthony.
